The Society has a new website – nottsfhs.org.
This new site is secure – all information between your PC or tablet or ‘phone and the new site is encrypted. Look for the padlock symbol.
A new host system is in use for the new site. The new host offers a more cost effective solution to our needs.
The use of a new content management system – WordPress – has allowed a new design for the site.
The old web site address – nottsfhs.org.uk – has been re-directed to the new web site. However, if you have book-marked individual pages on the old site, the book marks will no longer work.
Registrations on the old site have been copied to the new site, together with any privileges. Your Username will remain unchanged, but you may be asked to create and enter a new password. The WordPress password requirements are different to the old web site requirements. If your old password does not work, click the “Forgotten Password” link and follow the instructions.
The online shop will still use the secure PayPal web site for payments for orders. PayPal does not pass any financial information (debit card / credit card / PayPal account details) to the Society. The Society only receives sufficient information (name, address, shipping address, order details, payment confirmation) to be able to fulfil the order.
Members’ Wednesday Evening Meetings
The meetings are held on the third Wednesday of the month, and will start at 7:15 pm and finish no later than 8:45 pm.
On meeting nights The Society will have exclusive use of the Search Room at the Nottinghamshire Archives from 5:00 pm.
The Nottinghamshire Archives fronts onto Wilford Street. It is next door to the Magistrates Court and the HMRC Buildings (formerly Inland Revenue) are across the road. The Archives building is a five minute walk from Nottingham Railway Station, the Broadmarsh Bus Station and the Nottingham Station Tram stop.
There are a limited number of car parking spaces at the Archives.
