John and Margaret Gore

I am member of the Sussex FHG and am trying to trace the descendants to present day of a John and Margaret Gore who ran a Fishmongers in Main Road Radcliffe on Trent in 1911 census.  He was my great grandfather's brother and I would like to send to any of his living descendants pictures I have of him and his relatives.  Please contact me for more details.

Thomas Shepherd

My great-grandfather, Thomas Shepherd, was born in Sutton on Trent in 1853, the last of nine children of James and Ann (nee Cullen) both originally from North Muskham.

The other children were John born 1835 at North Muskham, Ann born 1837, William born 1839, Sarah born 1842, Elizabeth born 1844, James born 1846, Hannah born 1848 and Mary born 1850, all at Sutton on Trent.

Thomas moved to Sheffield, where he married and remained.  I do not know who any of the sisters married, if they did indeed marry. John also moved to Sheffield, William to Marnham and James was in North Collingham in 1871.

I have recently been collecting old photos from family members and have been given these two photos of one of Thomas's sister, but I do not know which one.  I know it is a long shot, but I am hoping that someone can identify her, and I would be grateful to hear from anyone who may be related who can tell me what happened to the girls.

Broadberry Family

I have been tracing the Broadberry family history for many years.  The family originates from Swinderby area in the 1500s.  I can trace my own direct line back to a certain Benjamin Broadberry who married in Gainsborough on 19 Oct 1827.

I am investigating the possibility that Benjamin Broadberry was the brother of Edric Broadberry who had the Jolly Bargeman pub in Collingham.

A contact of mine says she got information that Edric had a brother called Benjamin born 1808 from a certain Dr and Mrs Woods who had been researching past landlords of the pub.  Alas they don't seem to be contatable.

If anyone is knowledgeable in this area then could they email me please?

Thanks

Paul Broadberry
